1. Efficient Disulfide Bond Folding
The chromosome carries an integrated DsbC disulfide isomerase​ gene, coupled with deletions of the trxBand gorreductases. This genetic background promotes oxidative folding in the cytoplasm, significantly enhancing the solubility and correct folding rates​ of proteins containing disulfide bonds.
2. Low Background & Toxic Protein Expression
The strain harbors a lysY​ element expressing T7 lysozyme. This effectively suppresses basal (leaky) expression​ without interfering with IPTG induction, making it ideal for expressing toxic or difficult-to-express proteins.
3. Protease Deficient & High Efficiency
Engineered to be deficient in Lon and OmpT proteases, minimizing target protein degradation during expression. It is also T1 phage resistant​ and offers superior performance with > 10⁸ cfu/µg DNA transformation efficiency​ (tested with pUC19), ensuring high compatibility with pET-series vectors.
